Hey guys! Thanks for the feedback on the poster. The boys have gone ahead with the BLOG design since and loaded our special Jingle on the BLOG. Take a peek.

Status at this point is,
1) We have the FAQs almost done.

2) PZ has the account opened.

3) We're still waiting to see if Jin can put up the registration on Blog. Otherwise we would need Clarence's help on this. Mau, may need you to work your charm on this one.

4) I am honestly torn on whether to have a mixed or gender league. A new development in my point of view is if we go ahead with league + no breaks for any other tournaments, attendance may be an issue. And if we have only 80 girls sign up, i.e. 4 teams, how fun is it to meet the same team every 2 weeks for 10 weeks? I am leaning towards a gender league with strict 4-3 line. Would still like your feedback.

DRATSS membership hits all time high
DRATSS- The team may soon see a complete rejuvenation. During the past months, the team's performance has been stumbled, and almost succumbed to the long season of membership drought.

The last training saw 17 seniors and 11 newcomers working out their moves on the newly laid red soil at Bishan. Sporting new faces from Canberra Secondary, these latest additions to the nominal roll has not only breathed in some fresh enthusiasm but also, have become valuable additions to the arsenal.

The long awaited revival has raised hopes for many, especially for team captain, Jianye, and vice captain, Xuefen, who have selflessly made many personal sacrifices to keep the torch burning. However, their persistence will not be shortlived, even though their efforts have begun to pay off. Possible mid week trainings might be arranged for physical and skill conditioning, official confirmation on this matter has yet been released.

CANCER UPDATE

I received this reading via an email, and have adapted it for posting here. Even though it's not related to frisbee, but just wanted to share it, in case it is useful (read: no water bottles in freezer).

1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime. When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumours.

2. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.

3. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastro-intestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

4. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

5. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.

6. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

CANCER CELLS FEED ON:
a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal,Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful.
A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in colour. Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.

b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soy milk cancer cells are being starved.

c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

d. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer-fighting properties. Water-best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains,seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells.To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).

Other Do's and Don'ts
a. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.

b. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

c. No plastic containers in micro.

d. No water bottles in freezer.

e. No plastic wrap in microwave.
Glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food.

We have a Call Tree in place. Information (on training, pick-ups, AGM etc) will be passed down the tree to Weihao, Amy, Ivan, Derek and Yeesin. The 5 of them will be responsible for informing the people in their group.

Please send on the same message so that information will not be distorted. When your replies are required (on attendance etc), please reply to the SMS so that the 5 of them can revert to Xuefen and I.

For the newbies, please inform them according to who had invited them for the game. E.g. Melvin to inform Sharon, Esmond, Gabriel, Xiaowei, while Yeesin inform Ruth etc.

Super Heroes Summer League registration is now open!

Hey Singapore!

Hot on the heels of Winter League, we are bringing you, Super Heroes Summer League 2007! Starting from the 3rd of Jun, till the 28th of Jul, in the middle of summer in sunny Singapore, super heroes and super heroines of all ages, powers and physique will be forming teams to pit their skills against one another for the title of “The Ultimate Super Hero Team”!

This will be a co-ed, hat league, which means both Super Heroes and Super Heroines will be playing on the same team. Teams will be formed from Captains drawing the names of the heroes randomly out of a quantum optimizer. Registration for the league will start on the 7th of May, and will close on the 21st of May. This can be done on the Sing Ultimate Website itself.

For those of you who aspire to lead a superhero team to victory and glory, please indicate your desire to captain a team in the registration form. Such a desire is not without its benefits, as not only will captains will pay a discounted fee, your name will forever to placed in the Halls of Valhalla. Chief Administrator considers tearing down site
DRATSS- Chief Administrator OSM has hinted of plans to tear down the DRATSS community since it posed no added value to the DRATSS community. "Initially, it was hoped to be a site to disseminate information. But I guess my vision was ghastly overrated." says OSM.

The site has been going through construction lately in view to celebrate the dawning of the new age of a new DRATSS. However, shocking rumours of the tear down was confirmed when the press contact OSM for verification. "It has been a year? Well, we have seen good days on the site but I think it is just a bubble. People do not really intend to make this site an integral part of the culture. I am still not sure though, but plans to tear down the site has been definitely a serious consideration."

Backing up the rumours is the removal of blogging rights from the contributors who have remained silent since rights to blog have been granted.

The news to tear down the site will only be confirmed when OSM returns from his Hong Kong trip, after the 17th May 2007.

Small details to be tied down
DRATSS- "The main pillars of the site has been laid." announced OSM, Chief Administrator of the online DRATSS community. The process was relatively shorter when compared to the initial site construction, and even that, the current development has already outdone the initial forecast of seven days.

Maintenance work will continue as certain features will be installed to enhance the user's experience. Meanwhile, discussions for new features is now possible since the work is six man days ahead of time.

DRATSS site to go through makeover and functional restructure
DRATSS- OSM, Chief Administrator of the web community has officially announced the commencement of the upgrading project. "This is definitely not an election stint, but more of a commitment to the community to provide better service." clarifies the Chief. Asked about his response to the newly elected captain, "I think it really does not matter since it is all for the community. Most importantly, the captain must want to do the best for DRATSS and so far, he has done that since the first day I knew him." assures OSM.

According to the Administration, the upgrading works will take a fair bit of time since no budget has been set aside for the restructure. "Many things will have to go such as the email broadcast system, the subscription system. We will not entirely scrap it but lay it dormant. The gallery will also be disabled for the time being. We will look about how to integrate the blog as our primary source of information. More information will on the progress will be released time to time."

AGM Dishes Out New Appointment Holders

New captain elected
DRATSS- The AGM was held on Saturday evening at the Serangoon Gardens Liquid Kitchen. Howster, the founder of DRATSS officially steps down as team captain. Jianye, aka the Legoman, has been nominated by Howster to carry the appointment of Captain. The nomination received unanimous support from the members due to his strong commitment towards the game and the team.

Xuefen, aka Littlemisspiggy, has also been nominated to be the Vice Captain to aid the captain of his duties.

Both key appointment holders are expected to lead the team towards the coming Singapore Opens 07 which will be held at the end of the year. Any objectives to be achieved at the Opens have yet been made concrete. Official statements will only be expected to be released much later.

Legoman will go through blogging course

DRATSS- In a fast turnover, Legoman has been officially granted blogging rights to the DRATSS blog site. Legoman accepted the invitation to sign on to the team of writers late yesterday in a low profile acceptance ceremony.

Legoman, to date, is known for his gumption, especially when commenting on matters closely related to the team's direction. He also was one of the first to voice for the needed reforms and the initiator for several important campaigns that has strengthened the team.

In his bid for the blogging rights, Legoman has also proposed possible outline of new content that would be supplementary to the Ultimate sport. His proposals to launch content on supplements, sports apparel and other complimentary subjects are being seriously considered by the committee.

Legoman, however, will not jump into the content provision as yet. He will be undergoing courses to educate him on proper blogging knowledge. This is to ensure that the readers will be given high quality content.

DRATSS- In the bid to revive the hype for the community, a post CNY dinner was organized, courtesy of Koo. The turnout includes SPZ, who recently eluded the spotlights and is rumored to be involved in possible expansion of his underground money lending operations. Also showing up is Kev Choo, who later last year, declared his retirement from the sport. There has been indications that Kev would return to the sport.

Discussions hinting at revamping of several policies were openly discussed when team captain and founder, Howster arrived. "This discussion is not official and all the things discussed will most probably be just table talk. But I am sure the effects will well resound into the official meetings when real and proper policies are to be formed." comments one member.

"I think the party was eventful. We had quite a lot of things ironed out and a lot more to work towards. The coming year is going to be exciting and the Opens will definitely show us how much we have grown as a team." says Derek.

Kev Sounds Horn for AGM
New objectives and legislation to be set during meeting

DRATSS- Responding to unofficial talks from the post CNY party, Kev initiates the dates for the AGM in an email broadcast yesterday. The dates will be up on the site to allow online voting and results review real time.

So far, response has been optimistic and it seems that the community is abuzz with anticipation to unveil the reforms. Escalating the hype was the successful training session held last Saturday. "I must agree with Legoman that Saturday's training was one of the best in a long time. my muscles are aching all over! Definitely looking forward to more such trainings." remarks @ly.

Skeptics however remarked that such activity will be short lived unless the foundations of the policies are quickly erected to bring order to the volatility.

DRATSS- The sudden spike in the web traffic has impressed the blog founder, OSM. In a recent article, "Topic Runs Dry", OSM made disheartening remarks regarding the lack of commitment of the blogging community. "I was quite shocked to see some much activity in the chatbox recently, it means that people are now wanting their voices heard."

Also, Legoman has also requested for blogging rights. "This is encouraging for me as the administrator. At least I know that this site has a certain standing among the community." comments OSM. "Interested parties can notify me and I will be glad to send out the invitations to welcome you on board."

Content sees desert in blog columns
Readers have already begun to realise the lack of solid content being posted online. Due to the reduced number of trainings since the commencement of the Winter League, the story content for the online DRATSS blog have been getting dry. Making matters worse, the silence of the bloggers has signaled for desperate measures to revive the blog community.

"I think in the end, it still has to be me." comments Orangespaceman, the founder of the DRATSS Blog administration. "Things seem to be pretty bleak lately and I wouldn't want our voices to go away. I am forced to take up this reluctant monopoly of information."

The administration has also commented that the blogging rights initially handed out will not be terminated so as to encourage the bloggers to step up once more to contribute to the community.

Post Chinese New Year Party
Most DRATSS members expected to grace occassion
In the highly anticipated event organised since the Christmas party, most of the members of DRATSS have already expressed their interest to grace the post Chinese New Year party this coming Friday.

An unofficial AGM will probably take place during the event to summarize the performance of DRATSS for the year 2006 and as well as setting new targets for the present year. DRATSS founder and captain, Howster, will also be gracing this event and is expected to give statements on some touchy issues with respect to the future of DRATSS.

Certain reforms have been proposed and though no actual responses have been officiated, talks would most definitely be carried out during this event. The committee has also decided to keep mum about several issue before they are released officially on Friday.

DRATSS still on form
Small in numbers but big with punch
In an unofficial face off with SMU on Saturday, DRATSS managed to pull off a 7-5 win against the SMU junior team.

DRATSS had been down in numbers since the Winter League began but it seemed however, posed only minor issues for the team. Faced with a five on five playoff, there was only buffer of an additional substitute whereas SMU had the luxury to afford a full team substitution.

The face off seemed unmade for the friendly nature as the pace felt more rated as the battle of ages, seeing both sides making extreme attempts on both offense and defense. Clearly lacking of handlers on the home side, the offense were based on short passes, focusing squarely on increasing possession play.

Home side went on to conclude the game at 7-5.

Training freezes over from Winter League
Public cries for training sessions
In the spat of the recent Winter League, training has ceased almost completely. There has been a sudden surge in the demand for team training since individual skills are anticipated to improve due to the Winter League.

Experts predict that even though the team players may improve individually, the lack of a collective team training may spell certain downfall for the DRATSS team. Several members of the team have been trying very hard to initiate a training session on Saturdays but unfortunately, have met with cold response.

A possible call for a Chinese New Year gathering may reignite the passion, experts say.

Hello Dratss and Administrator, apologies for the long absence in the blog. Dun hav internet access in office and was caught up with the laziness of turning on the comp when i m home.

Not sure if everyone still reads the blog but i m 1 guilty 1. Sorry sorry... OSM, any idea if our pple r reading the blog? shd i send emails instead? Noted that training has been cancelled on saturdays due to league games on sundays. Was wondering should we train on sunday mornings then? we could still train at bishan n the league-goers can make it down to the games tog?

Preposition comes because LMP feels that
1.League game is an ECA. We shouldnt be stopping training bcos we r playing in the league rite? We r still gonna advance as a team rite?

2.Training with the team wld do good for the league-goers as well? Dun reli get to warm up for the 2pm game usually?

Photos load up halfway says viewer
The Administration has launched an inquiry on the reported matter after several members of the DRATSS public reported faulty uploading of the 2006 Xmas photos. The result reveal that the public is once at fault, as typical as any public inquiry always proves.

The grey boxes that appear during the viewing process is due to bad uploading by the browser, so if a user is to experience the reported phenomena, simply reload the page and wait patiently.

If it still fails, get a Macintosh.

Dim Sum at Upper Thomson
Five dollars roast pork is way too expensive
The DRATSS team headed to Nan Hua Restaurant along Upper Thomson for a dim sum lunch. The people serving us were friendly, however, when the roast pork was served, everyone stared at the plate and began questioning the cost-portion ratio.

Five dollars for such a minuscule portion was absolutely not acceptable. However, after much cajoling, the owner decided to fill the plate with more pieces of roast pork.

The DRATSS team gives Nan Hua Restaurant the follwing ratings:
Food: 7 out of 10 stars
Service: 6 out of 10 stars

Team Roster Up for Winter League
Winter League team captains notify players
Team rosters should already have reached your emails by now, if not, you are either not in the league or not in the loop.

Singapore Ultimate has organised a Disc Golf/Clinic at Marina City Park coming this Saturday from 1300 hrs- 1700hrs.

And coming Sunday, there is a Beginner's Clinic that will be conducted at 1430hrs to 1700hrs at Seng Kang fields. Apparently four stations will be setup to teach the basics of the game like Spirit of the Game, throws, cutting etc. followed by a series of pickups.

Slow response time from administrator dulls senses
The photos are finally up after a long wait. Many complaints have been sent to the Chief Administrator, Orangespaceman, demanding answers for the lag in response to their complaints.

"I work too you know."exclaims the Chief Adminstrator. The other listed contributors have not had their voices heard since last year and the public is also demanding for answers on this. "I think it's best they speak for themselves." says Orangespaceman. The administration welcomes further input from the public however, it did not reveal how long it required to review these inputs.

DRATSS Celebrates Second Birthday
New comer celebrates birthday with DRATSS
DRATSS turned two years old over the weekends. It has climbed up from its days of uncertainty to emerge as a team where at least the local ultimate community has recognized its potential to cocoon to a even greater performer.

Newcomers Rachel and Raphael, 18 and 11 respectively, experienced the DRATSS signature hospitality as the celebration for the two year old team were manifested into a series of short plays and there was not one clean jersey at the end of the games.

Rachel and Raphael are siblings, and also cousins of the DRATSS founder, Howster, and of the Yeo Brothers of the infamous Hui Quan Syndicate. The R'blings amazed the DRATSS and exhibited their exceptional genes. Rachel made well timed cuts to provide support on the midfield and salvaged poor throws and converted them into showy snatches that turned tables; Raphael sneaked into the end zone and surely stamped his authority despite being little, placing three well earned points into his personal scoreboard.

Coincidentally, Rachel shares her birthday with the said team and turns 18 over the weekend.

Pre New Year's Eve Party
Party at Hui Quan's house
The pre New Year's Eve party was a success, gracing rare faces like Chen Zheng, making the evening delightful. There were abundance of food as Simin graciously prepared smacking good curry and fried bee hoon, adding to the variety of food already spread on the table.

The barbecue fires were raised at a little past six in the evening as the heavy downpour quickly receded. The food was clearly dished out and appetites only slowed around ten in the evening as everyone gathered to indulge in trash talk and wicked gossips. Simin whipped out a copy of "Zoolander" as everyone crowded around LCD screen of Quan's laptop to be entertained by the comical antics of Ben Stiller.

The night ended at two plus in the morning, ready to greet the arrival of the New year and to a very great year of Ultimate ahead!

Christmas Party Lacks the Reds and Greens
Party goers all agree party was definitely more colourful than Christmas
The DRATSS Christmas party turned out to be extremely successful. The party, held eventually at Maureen's place, embraced varieties of meat and alcohol, enough to hold the party twice over, thanks to the generosity of Legoman and Howster.

The games which included a warped version of Bingo and Trivia, were wicked arrangements by LMP and Hamy, entertained the party goers throughout the night. The party extended into the night as drinks were passed round.

Photo coverage of the event is currently being processed. Notification will be sent when the update is complete.

Due to the successfulness of the Christmas party, it has raised the bar for the coming New Year's Eve party to be held tentatively at orangespaceman's home, till further notice.

Orangespaceman resurfaces after weeks of disappearance
Chief Administrator, Orangespaceman, disappeared since the last scrimmage report and no one close to him had any clue about his disappearance. The two week long disappearance ended today when Orangespaceman resurfaced to provide explanations for his two week long disappearance when no one bothered to question.

"I think I better explain myself before I really disappear from the virtual community." he explained. "I may not be around, but I am watching, also watching vigilantly. I have come to notice of the insurgent LMP, who is working hard behind this virtual community, starting her underground communications via emails, which of course is a definite act of disregard for this community's focus for bureaucracy."

Orangespaceman further added, "I did not disappear. I just went for an unannounced retreat from this virtual burden which is otherwise not mine alone but seemingly only mine to carry. I am back refreshed to bring much stronger content to everyone in this community."

DRATSS Christmas party finalised after prolonged discussions
DRATSS- The date and the venue of the party has been finalised. In an act of tyranny, the LMP committee has gorged their way into a confirmation date despite efforts for democracy as polls were erected in the virtual site.

The party will be held on the 16th of December, 2006, Saturday at 1830hrs at the function room of Char Yong Gardens (Maureen's place) behind Heerens. SGD$30 will be exacted per head for this event.

Open Scrimmages Ends
DRATSS bites final game loss against DK
BISHAN- The open scrimmages concluded last sunday afternoon with DRATSS losing their final match against DK by a near 15-11, crushing hopes of climbing up the ranks in the local ultimate community.
Maureen from DRATSS opened the scores with a quick snatch at the end zone, the first of the heavy onslaught that was yet to come from the DRATSS offense. Many attempts at the end zone followed in quick succession as pitches into the zones were found answered by the DRATSS' deeps.

There was obvious trouble with accepting DK's speed of play. DK managed to return the favour from the turnovers as the DRATSS defense struggled to stay in pace. They managed to close the gap in the scoreboards as the force gradually weakened in the DRATSS camp. Despite this, the usual authority that DK had was lacking, risky throws found awkward grabs, rewarding DRATSS with a larger piece of the pie towards the end zone all the way, calling for half time at 8-7.

Fresh faces were seen on the DK's lineup at the commencement of the second half, increasing the firepower of DK's arsenal since one of the fresh players participated in the World series with the Freakshow just recently. DK quickly evened the score at 8-8 as the second half opened.

The intensity of the match heightened as players from both sides met dirt in attempts to bring the disc home.

The DRATSS defense braced for the insurgence but failed to tame DK's offensive. However, luck fell on both sides of the fence- deeps fumbling and dropping the discs even in the end zone, prolonging the game time.

Second half and the downfall of DRATSS began. The DK handlers' precise hucks complimented DK's style of the run and gun, throwing behind many of the exhausted DRATSS' defenders. The score was quickly tied at 11-11, and fissures evidently showing up in the composure of both teams.

The tempo began to speed up and every opportunity for the run and gun was taken up by DK. DRATSS performance after the 11th point was a complete downhill. Even though many of the progressive attacks were stopped dead in mid air interceptions by Howster, Kevin and Simin, cries for a stronger defense fell on deaf ears as the opposition continued to widen the score gap and finally; concluding the game at 15-11.

New species documented on video
Birdwatchers are excited over new species of bird

BISHAN- A new strain of bird has been discovered in Bishan Park and the discovery is creating huge waves of excitement amongst the birdwatching community. The video was shot by DRATSS member Calbok via a mobile phone who then, uploaded the clip onto YouTube.com.

Despite the poor resolution, experts were able to confirm without the doubt that the bird might have come from the genetic line known as the Kevchoo Petitus Minor, as it bore signature characteristics of the named species. If the study is correct, scientists would then be able to close the broken link in the evolutionary chain for this species of birds as the living fossil was assumed to be the missing link between the Hobbitus Penil and the Kevchoo Petitus Minor.

Celebrity Status Up
Calbok appears in magazine again
Calbok is featured once more in local magazines, but this time in the November's issue of iWeekly, a popular Chinese magazine. Calbok was previously featured in NuYou magazine as one of Singapore's heart throb men, and also recently, been hailed as KTV king when he crooned his way into the hearts of the females.

The DRATSS's member has been receiving quite a fair bit of attention lately in the local print media arena. He can be seen running in Bishan Park this Sunday, 3pm, in really tight shorts, and topless.

UNO sighted on rainy day
A UNO (Unidentified Nipple Object) was caught on camera. "I was in the car when this thing just smacked and smeared itself on the car window!" recounts the cameraman, who prefers to remain anonymous to avoid public scrutiny.

UNO sightings has been numerously reported and no explanation has yet been put forth to explain the phenomenon.

70% increase use of various media on site

DRATSS- There has been an 70% increase in the use of various forms of media feature on the official DRATSS site, and all thanks to the community, says Chief Administrator orangespaceman.

"We now see videos from YouTube that are voluntarily filmed by the public and then sent in requesting to be featured. We also can see the obvious increase in the number of photos that are now posted also to support the content we publish. I say this is a fantastic sign that the site is now gaining some foothold in the community's lives." comments the Chief Administrator.

Ironically, no photos were posted to support this report.

Visualisation In Sport
Imagery can improve performance
Many athletes use visualization techniques routinely as a part of training. There are stories and examples of how such techniques provide not only a competitive edge, but a renewed mental awareness and sense of well-being.

Visualization has also been called guided imagery, mental rehersal, mediation, and a host of new names. Generally speaking, visualization is the process of creating a mental image or intention, of what you want to happen or to feel.

An athlete can use this technique to 'intend' and outcome of a race, training session or simply rest in a feeling of calm and well-being.

By imagining a scene, complete with images or movies, of a previous best performance or a new desired outcome, the athlete will simply 'step into' that feeling. While imagining these scenarios, the athlete should try to imagine the detail and the way it feels to perform in the desired way. These images can be visual (images and pictures), kinesthetic (how the body feels), or auditory (the roar of the crowd). Using the mind, an athlete can call up these images over and over, enhancing the skill through repetition or rehearsal, similar to physical practice. With mental rehearsal, minds and bodies become trained to actually perform the skill imagined.

Both physical and psychological reactions in certain situations can be improved with such visualization. Such repeated imagery can build both experience and confidence in an athlete's ability to perform certain skills under pressure, and in a variety of possible situations. The most effective visualization techniques result in a very vivid sport experience in which the athlete has complete control over a successful performance and a belief in this new 'self.'

Guided imagery, visualization, mental rehersal, or whatever you like to call it, can maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of your training. In a world where sports performance and success is measured in one hundredths of a second, most athletes will use every possible training technique at hand. Visualization is used by many to gain that very slim margin.

DRATSS to battle Disc Knights
DRATSS lost 15-9 in previous standoff
DRATSS- Raved as one of the most exciting games in the history of DRATSS, the recent match against Disc Knights (DK) ended in a 15-9 loss. The milestone match proved the DRATSS' aptitude for the game was far from being a myth, and this was further reiterated in the recent win of 15-8 against Muddy Grass.

The DKs have earned the reputation of being an exceedingly speedy team and a good lung of stamina to evenly distribute their firepower throughout the match, which can prove quite lethal to the DRATSS inconsistent defense.

However, the last match with DK in the Open Scrimmages have earned DRATSS some level of respect amongst the community as most would have expected DRATSS to lose by a wider margin. In fact, the outcome of the last match had sparked off greater anticipation for the coming match-up for the both teams.

The match will take place at Bishan Park, near the Dog Run area, this coming Sunday at 3pm.

DRATSS celebrates one year anniversary with win
DRATSS win Muddy Grass 15-8
BISHAN- A showdown between DRATSS and Muddy Grass took place yesterday, exactly one year since the first time DRATSS formally played Muddy Grass and lost 15-8. The match held great significance as it was also a year since the actual formation of DRATSS.

Muddy Grass dealt swift blows, long hucks and precise passes and soon proved formidable just mere ten minutes into the game. DRATSS made no progress, disregarding force and having holes punched all over in its defence, Muddy Grass led 4 points to zero ahead of DRATSS.

Timeout was called at 4-0 as rain clouds quickly formed up. The game commenced once more after a half hour timeout.

DRATSS spent no time to regain ground as LittleMissPiggy broke the nought with an easy grab in the end zone. The play was however, starting to be plagued by continuous calls for travel by both sides wrecking the game tempo, causing the game to sputter with anything but light action. However, the DRATSS offense persisted, making a miraculous comeback, tying the scoreline at 7-7. Kevin, aka beep beep, broke into high octane to the corner cone, executing a grab mid air, closing the first half with style at 8-7.

Second half and Muddy Grass flexed to put a fast score down, flatting the scoreline at 8-8. DRATSS regained composure, and began pounding Muddy's defense. Smooth passes between the DRATSS' handlers chalked up high level of possessive play. Simin, Howster and Eesin pushed the game tempo up with unexpected bursts and fast precise passes that made its way to fly in catches by midfielders SPZ. The handlers released a couple long hucks and in an
extraordinary effort, made its way into the endzone and a goal punctuated into the score as Derek crunched into play with an acrobatic maneuver, propelling the morale of DRATSS to a higher level.

Female DRATSS player, hamy, stole the limelight- facing Muddy's veteran female handler, she silenced the handler's efforts to send offensive passes for conversion in the zone. DRATSS went on to take the game with orangespaceman closing the game at 15-8 with a definitive catch of the pie from Howster.

Hits Rockets Past 2000 Mark
Chief Administrator congratulates community
DRATSS- The hit counter of DRATSS-Ultimate online community rocketed past its first milestone mark of 2000 hits this morning. Chief Administrator, orangespaceman, was extremely pleased during the press release and expressed that there is a greater future for the site.

"Bolder plans are in view and are currently under discussion. We have yet to fully utilise this site and already, our hits have gone so far. I am happy that the site is doing a service to this community." orangspaceman commented.

There has been rumours of regular podcasting. "I will not confirm that there will indeed be regular podcasting, but I will also not say that the rumours are unfounded. The management are looking into this matter very seriously, making sure that our site is constantly updated not only with textual content, but also new media content like podcasts, vidcasts etc. It will definitely be quite an exciting future." orangspaceman added.

DRATSS to play Muddygrass
Match is scheduled at 3pm at Bishan Park this Sunday
DRATSS will face Muddygrass over this weekend in a Sunday brawl at Bishan Park at 3pm. DRATSS had played Muddygrass before during its younger days and this has fueled further anticipation among the community with regards to this game.

Muddygrass, the second oldest team in Singapore, are made up of students and young professionals. "I think we will see quite a bit of high level play coming from this team, and they seemed quite well packed with stamina too." comments a member of the DRATSS team.

A walk over was called when Muddygrass performed a no-show on its supposed play against the Disc Knights in the Open Scrimmages. No official reason was given to explain their absence.

New blogger joins ranks
DRATSS- The community welcomes a new blogger, Beep Beep, who recently joined the ranks of the bloggers of DRATSS-Ultimate. His first post attracted 24 page views and generated 1 comment, by Orangespaceman, Chief Adminstrator and Founder of the DRATSS-Ultimate site, since it was published last night.

Curious viewers contacted Orangespaceman to ask about the mystery poster since no official statement indicating any recruitment campaign of any sorts was released. Previous calls for interested parties to take up the blogging role attracted no less than mere whimpers as existing bloggers for the community now include, orangespaceman, Mel, and me_loh.

Ancient idol discovered on LittleMisPiggy's Desk

In exchange for a pot of chocolate coins disguised as gold, leprechauns traded in an ancient idol thought to give the bearer good luck to Miss Piggy.

An attempt to keep her sources confidential, herein described as 'they'..a desperate email was sent to seek help to identify the weirdly shaped ceramic..quote:

Polling Starts
Voting is compulsory for all DRATSS' members
Polling has started to elect the most favorable date to hold the Christmas Party. Two official dates have been released, 16th December 2006 and 23rd December 2006, both Saturdays. The community is urged to voice their preferred choice of one of either dates so that further administrative work can be carried out.

Due to previous experiences, mailers have been sent to all members of the DRATSS to ensure that every member exercise their rights. Voting is compulsory and is confidential. However, members who do not vote will be publicly shamed and ridiculed for the remaining days of year 2006.

Below are detailed instructions on how to vote, just in case excuses like not knowing how to vote crops up.

How to vote:
• Scroll to the ANNOUNCEMENTS bar at the right of this page and then to the polling engine.

Fabulous play against DK
Well done DRATSS!

5 Nov 06, Rainy.
Day started grey, with thick cumulus clouds hovering over the greens. One of the interesting things tt happened - the DRATSS team listened to the impeding rain. If its a tsunami, we would have all been dead! Cover was subsequently seeked a) in a bomb shelter lookalike hole, b) in Ee Sin's car. It didnt take long for the rain to stop n soooo.. the fight begins!

Smooth passes and steady catches between the handlers allowed DRATSS to bag the 1st point of the game breaking the cup that was set up. Nice catch Jules! Other actions worth mentioning, 1. Narrowly missing the disc was Mel's Big Splash and a big mouthful of muddy water, 2. Kevin's airbag chest which bounces discs off, 3. Kevin's little victory jump after he whacked the disc away from the DK, 4. Mel's pretty catches which brought us 2 pts in the 1st half, 5. nice catches from PZ, a couple of good Ds from Ee Sin and Derek, 6. Cal winning the 3-man tussle on the floater in the zone, 7. Bernard's long pulls with 50pct chance in n the other 50 out =P, 8. How, Ber and Ee Sin tormenting the shagged out cup

OK. 8 is a good number to stop at. 1st half score stood at 8-4 to DK and final score 15-9 to DK. Smallest margin in the game was juz a 2pt diff. We made a lot less mistakes den we used to. Standing at the sidelines watching the game, it's really satisfying/rewarding/touching etc, to see that the team has come so far and improve so much together! Nicely done DRATSS!

Howster Snubbed in Hong Kong
Hong Kong frisbee scene impressed by Singapore Freakshow
HONG KONG- Team captain, Howster, on a ambassadorial visit to Hong Kong had a go at the Hong Kong frisbee scene held a nice private pitch, So Kon Po Recreation Ground, situated next to the Hong Kong Stadium. In his recount, the standard "wasn't too bad".

Expressing that he was from Singapore, the people were impressed as Singapore Freakshow clinched the top prize at the Hong Kong Open just last weekend. However, his friendliness met the wall when he expressed that he was not with the Freakshow.

Second in line, Maureen, is expected to lead people
HOME- Team captain, Howster, will fly to Hong Kong for ambassadorial work for a week. During his absence, second in command of the DRATSS political cabinet, Maureen, is likely to assume acting Chief. Maureen, is known for discretion on the Net and is hardly contactable through the means of the Internet. Rumors have it that the voice of Maureen will be fronted by LittleMissPiggy, who is, ironically, suffering from lip injuries when she ran into a frisbee during a previous training session.

In related news, Jianye aka The Legoman, would be accompanying team captain, Howster, though the purpose of his trip would be less purposeful.

Podcast delayed
Members of the public losing patience with delayed scheduled podcast
HOME- Majority of the DRATSS public are losing their patience over repeated promises of a scheduled podcast. The release of the podcast has been repeatedly rescheduled and no official statement was released to explain the delay.

"I am losing my patience," declares one member of the public.

"I am losing my patience too," declares another.

"I have been riddled by many work commitments that are intangible to the masses." replied Orangspaceman, Chief Administrator, when interviewed on the issue. "It's time consuming to mimic so many voices at one time. The haze is another. I am sure that the podcast will be broadcast soon."

Derek turns one year older coming Friday
Birthday boy plans to celebrate with wife
HOME- Derek will be one more year older coming Friday. He plans to celebrate the happy affair with his wife. However, plans of a possible KTV session with the DRATSS are currently on the table, provided of course, "If my wife is too busy to celebrate with me." quips Derek.

DRATSS downs Chuckies 13-10
BISHAN PARK- SPZ's flying interception would have headed to the highlight reel if there were any media coverage for the low profile open scrimmage event. However, the interception well fueled greater motivation for DRATSS as the scores slowed down towards the end of the first half. Plagued by many long finishes, both teams were battling to their wits' end and the half time was finally called at 7-3, with DRATSS leading the game.

Chuckies climbed back fast after the half time, catching up 5-7 merely fifteen minutes since the second half commenced. Twice, the long hucks of the Chuckies found itself home. DRATSS player, Simin exhibited acrobatic defense, clocking in at least four midair interceptions, crumbling the Chuckies attacks.

A huck from DRATSS team captain, Howster, at the 50 yard mark found home as OSM took air and caught the huck, narrowly missing defensive attempts from the Chuckies defender.

Maureen led with 5 catches to her account, followed by Derek who had 3 catches to his account. DRATSS finished 13-10 against Chuckies and will face the Disc Knights in their next match.

Self explained from the header, Saturday games will cease till the end of the inter-club scrimmages, unless self-motivated personnel organises and informs about Saturday sessions. Apologies to Calvin and Chris who turned up yesterday.

Hari Raya BBQ report #1
The freaking bored piggy

The piggy arrived at Green Meadows at 4pm Singapore time, expecting littlemrkevin to be already there, since he announced that he would be free from lunchtime onwards. However, upon arrival, the piggy discovered that the only creatures in Green Meadows are OSM and the Monkey. The only thing the exasperated piggy could say was " i will die talking to idiots!!!~~ "

Suggestion was then made by OSM to contact littlemrkevin so that the piggy could squeeze some kind of entertainment out of making fun of him. After establishing contact with littlemrkevin, he promised to be on his way with drinks to feed the piggy. Ex-joyofmylife informed that he wld be arriving at Green Meadows after an hour's train ride from Kembangan and another half's bus ride from AMK. This is bad news for the trapped piggy who is trying to look for enough kakis to play bridge wif.

The latest piece of devastating news came from the Emperor-cum-teamaker. His edict reads "Hi, Me and Hongcai will come with derek. We'll be late." These bad news renders that the piggy has to entertain herself until non-idiots arrive at Green Meadows. Wish her luck.

Yours truly was down at Bishan park today for a piece of the pick-up action. It seems that Muddy Grass pulled a no-show and stood up DK today, so Chuckies split into two teams - one against Shiok and the other against DK.

I was roped in to the Chuckies team against DK and managed to satisfy my disc craving for the weekend (yesterday's game was way too short).

In anycase, those guys really take the scrimage really seriously, so guys, we've got to get serious about next week.

On another note, did you know that Shoik recruited a couple of SMU players like jiamin and justin?

For those who missed our Chill Out Session @ Alley Bar, too bad for you!!

It was a fun-filled day beginning wif the movie Death Note@Plaza Sing, where the Emperor and his yellow book, together with Bananaz turn up LATE, to the dismay of littlemissaly n littlemisspiggy! Nevertheless, Death Note was not at all disappointing, where the suck-thumb candy boy pitted himself against the apple-provider! Let's catch its sequel together k!!!

Dinner was settled @ Shimbashi Soba where littlemissmauie and littlemisshamy(as usual, the latest) joined littlemissaly n littlemisspiggy! Set dinners were ordered n tummies fully filled =)

Asses and full tummies were dragged to Alley Bar and plonked onto the nice soft couch! Mel came n shared the health benefits of beer.. fun fact 1 - Mel's fave beer is wholegarden(not half but whole yeah) and he drinks one a day. How came by later in the evening and we adjourned to Char Siew Yong Tau Foo Hoegarden where the live band entertained us and shortly after live ben and OSM joined us. The usual charades, corny jokes and talks on contractual obligations kept us going til abt 1ish where littlemissaly finally konked out. Party was brought to an end. Til the next time we meet! =)

Fixtures for Inter-club scrimmages Announced
Inter-club scrimmages to kick off on 29 October
The official fixtures of the Inter-club scrimmages were announced yesterday afternoon by team captain, Howster. The games will kick off on the 29th October 2006 on familiar grounds of Bishan Park at 3pm. The games will spread over five weekends till the 19th November 2006.

In his email, he expressed that the team "have yet reach our best potential" and more can be done to maintain or even improve the level of play. In the weeks after the Opens, the standard of play lingers on the edge, as hopes to get back to its former prime, with a focus on demonstrating its huge potential, falters again and again. The outcome of this second hurdle is strongly determined by every player's level of commitment and desire for the game, and surely, DRATSS will see good opportunities of keeping the streak alive.

Orangespaceman Apologizes for Mocking LittleMissPiggy

Chief Administrator Orangespaceman says that he is sorry that his recent mockery of LittleMissPiggy's spelling error had caused her a great deal of discomfort.

In a closed door session last night at the Harry's Bar, Orangespaceman explained that his remarks meant no ill and blames the media for sensationalizing a plain and harmless comment for readership gains. He looks forward to building stronger bilateral ties and never did regard LittleMissPiggy as a rival. "We should work together. It will only result in a better good. I understand now that as a political member, I should really watch what I say. I am indeed really sorry." Orangespaceman said conclusively.

LittleMissPiggy was more than happy that her demand for a blogic apology has been taken seriously. She also feels that working together with the Chief Administrator will only reap more benefits for the community than she can sow. Pun not intended.

Orangespaceman concluded that the last thing he wanted to do, after a week of troubled relations with LittleMissPiggy, was to cause her a great deal of discomfort.

Creature Feature: Be Smitten with Calvin Bok

The 29 year old is not a new face with the DRATSS Ultimate team- always teething in smiles, you can literally equate Calvin with nice. "He has the perpetual sparkle in his eyes that would transport you to a fantasy land." quips a fan. Meeting the man in person, it is no wonder that he would be one of the few people selected to be featured in the October 2006 issue of Nu You.

Threats to boycott blogism
PIG STY- A red-hot(instead of the usual rosy pink hued) littlemisspiggy was seen fuming over the remarks made by Orangespaceman about the non-existent noun 'liberisation'. She made the following remarks in a closed-door freeflow dialogue session with the 3 little pigs.

"How could that spaceman with Primary 2 writing standards critise MY writing. I admit its a spelling error. But HE too has spelling errors (maybe not as serious) but it does exist. Can someone tell him he spelt bLog as bog? I am so on fire now that I might become a suckling pig soon. If he doesn't make a blogic apology for mocking moi, I am boycotting any blogism remotely related to him."

Orangespaceman could not be reached at blog time for comments.

Orangespaceman says LittleMissPiggy writes well but has problems spelling
DRATSS- In the bitter wake of the events that started since the week opened, trouble is still brewing. In an unofficial statement to the press, orangespaceman passed remarks that would probably lead to serious repercussions, experts said. Choking on coffee while at the press interview, orangespaceman pointed to the first entry posted by newly appointed administrator, LittleMissPiggy, and mocked, "Someone please check the dictionary! I am not sure if the word 'liberisation' exists!"

However, later in the afternoon, orangespaceman, released new statements which took on a milder tone, "She can surely write well, but she should really brush up on her spelling. Me supposedly writing like a kid is already embarrassing enough, we don't need another embarrassment in the administration."

LittleMissPiggy currently could not be contacted for comment.

Significant improvement in standard of Blogism

PIG STY- Following efforts to relieve agonized blogizens of Primary 2 composition writing standards, the authorities have noticed a significant improvement in the standard of Blogism on DRATSS-Ultimate.

"This is viewed as a liberisation of the Blogism sector in DRA!", exclaimed an eager blogizen.

The DRATSS council believes that, with the move to share administration rights, although it might not thoroughly weed out Primary 2 writing standards, they have expressed that the move definitely creates a conducive environment “to spruce up the entertainment value of the blog”, quoting Orangespaceman, who is still under trial for producing Blogism of Primary 2 standard. DRATSS Chief Administrator To Share Administration Rights
BISHAN PARK- In a response to Saturday's protest for more rights to access to posting on the blog which lasted only three minutes, the Chief Administrator, orangespaceman, has confirmed rumours that indeed, the administrative rights to the blog will no longer be solely dominated by him alone.

"I believe only in efficiency. I do not see displeasure when they stage the protest. In fact, I see an opportunity where both parties can pool their resources together and discuss possible solutions that will improve the site for our blogizens."he stated. "However, I still am defiant of the fact that I write like a primary two student, which of course is baseless and a crude remark that represents the stigma that plagues our society today, belittling the stature and potential of our future leaders, the children."

Maureen, the leader of the three minute protest at the Dog Run Area, remarked that the Chief Administrator, Orangespaceman, "writes like a primary two student."When the news was announced, there was no official statement given by the activist group. Maureen and her group were not contactable for any comment.

"I invite any person or persons who are interested in contributing to the bog content, or feel that they are capable to spruce up the entertainment value of the blog to step forward and ask for administration rights." Orangespaceman added in his statement.

This unprecedented move by the administration drew a thumbs up from the market researchers. "This move is definitely favourable to Orangespaceman in the next elections."

14th October To Be Singapore Opens Post Mortem BBQ Party
UPPER THOMSON- Despite efforts to value the right to exercise democracy, voting of the best date to hold the party via polling has failed. This has in turn led to the enforcement of the party date to 14th October.

"We are utterly dismayed when we learnt that almost 60% of the DRATSS blogizens attributed to no show on the polling engine."a minister of the DRATSS Council said. "But we have no choice, we have to enforce a day so that people can mark on their calendars that this is the date that the party is going to be held and they have to make it at all costs."

Howster, president of the DRATSS Council refused to make any comments except, "Unfortunately, we cannot make that day a public holiday." And when questioned about the possible reasons that contributed to the failure of the polling engine, "The experts are still looking into the matter."

Mssing Cones Update

SENTOSA- New reports have surfaced since the training cones were discovered missing. Shocked players have reported sighting an orangespaceman hovering above the site and then disappearing with the cones.

The authorities are questioning the authenticity of the reports and list the possibility of repossession by the Hui Quan Syndicate despite their efforts to clear the allegations. Ufologists have proposed an alternative explanation which declared that the alleged abduction of the cones was in fact a desperate move by aliens to fit in since the last airing of popular TV series, Alien Nation, which features aliens spotting conical shaped heads. However, investigators believe that that these reports are diversion tactics by hoaxster Kevin Choo, known widely for his bullshit. New indications are pointing investigators to follow up on Kevin Choo's trail.

Use of Subheaders Now Legal
DRATSS Administration Announces Guidelines for Proper Use
DRATSS- In the bid to promote better reading comfort, the DRATSS Administration have finally legalised the use of Subheaders. The new ruling has also come timely as new blog content providers are joining the administration force.

"Subheaders have actually reaped very positive results in the rehabilitation process for M.T.C (Massive Textual Content) addicts." announced the spokesperson of the Subheader Campaign. "We are quite excited." he added.

Subheaders have been abused in the recent years in blogs who underestimate the effects of Subheaders, and now, guidelines are enforced strictly by the Administration to ensure proper and safe usage. "Subheaders must never be larger than their titles." quipped the spokesperson. "They must also be in their designated colour coding, #FF6633, which promotes the cultural preservation program of the DRATSS early administration years set by the DRATSS Heritage Department."

Discontented Readers Stage Peaceful Protest

A small number of DRATSS members aired their displeasure by staging a peaceful protest at the Dog Run Area of Bishan Park. They were protesting against the resident author of DRATSS-Ultimate, orangespaceman, for providing content that was amateurish.

"It was as though it was written by a primary two student!" exclaimed activist leader, Maureen. She is not a new face in the frisbee scene and in fact, has been actively contesting for more equal rights for her band of merry female players. However, she was spotted lately with a new hairdo. "It cost $150!" remarked Maureen.

The group are fighting for administrative rights to the blog so they can post "more entertaining and more informative content", so claimed one activist member, who prefers to be known as LittleMissPiggy. "It's so boring!" retorted LittleMissPiggy. But when questioned how she would spruce up the content, she remained silent.

There were others however, who were in favour of the content author, orangespaceman. "I think it's a wonderful site, informative and all. It's really erm..wonderful." said one frequent user who has chosen to remain anonymous.

"I think the people should be thankful that the blog was setup in the first place. People should be appreciative that something like that is provided for them." another supporter said.

The peaceful protest ended merely three minutes it started. When contacted, orangespaceman declined to comment on the issue except that the day of the protest was indeed "a tiring but no doubt a rewarding day".

Missing Cones
Remarkably, on the same day, the cones usually deployed for training were missing. "Who got the cones?"shrugged Howster. Fortunately, help arrived when Yinghui arrived with cones used for his skating training, though they are slightly pint sized to mark the end zone effectively.

"What to do?"shrugs Howster again as he rushed to place the pint sized cones.

"Could be the Hui Quan Syndicate. Frisbees have mysteriously gone missing and reappear again with their names on them since they arrived." a member of DRATSS explained. No concrete evidence negates such a hypothesis but the possibility has been ruled out since "the Hui Quan Syndicate only targets misplaced frisbees" explained the spokesperson of the Hui Quan Syndicate.

Currently, no one has reported sighting the cones since the Sentosa outing and authorities are suspecting foul play. The authorities are urging any witnesses who have any information regarding the missing cones to come forward immediately.

Sentosa Outing

Saturday, 10 am, DRATSS' members appeared one by one at Harbourfront and nearly took control of the whole of Wan Jiao Kaya Toast shop for their breakfast. Laughters resounded in the whole of the shop as curious faces turned to locate the source of the cacophony. Lots of eggs and lots toasts later, the team adjourned to Sentosa where the party begins.

We were lucky to find a nice big sandy patch along Siloso beach and the cones were immediately placed. Only gripe was that the sand was scorching hot and our feet cringed in pain from the searing heat. However, the action began once the discs were in the air and layout action was served one by one as the game intensified. We invited once again curious stares as most would have never seen ultimate frisbee being played before. More stares when the disc strayed into the restaurant adjacent to the playing ground, narrowly missing heads and smashing into plates and cups, a couple of times I must mention. Oops.

Other than that, the game went on for the next few hours before we surrendered to battered feet at nearly 7p.m.

Buffet
Going without food for the whole day and fueled purely by adrenalin was amazing and as we pulled our tired bodies along, we headed to Hotel Rendezvous, Straits Buffet to stuff our faces.

I must say, the food there was borderline and going at $30.00 per head. If special credit card privileges that brought the cost to $26 per head, I would find the buffet unworthy. The service was poor- I requested a fork at the start of my meal and towards the end of my meal after an hour, there was still no sight of it. Forking hell.

A great day nonetheless, and a bigger party next weekend.

The Seven Year Itch

Congratulations to Derek on his seventh year wedding anniversary!

An impromptu session was arranged to satisfy the seven year itch as the gang of six headed down to Bishan park for some frisbee action. The floodlights at the field went dark by 11pm, but by then, we have already conducted the baptism of layouts. The layout drill was conducted in the same fashion of the much revered PULA, although our layups looked somewhat deliberate.

With the session ending promptly at 11pm, we headed down to the nearby coffeeshop for supper. The events of the Opens were once again laid out on the table and the verdict was; we have duly underestimated our own capabilities.

We are definitely better than we think.

Barbecue Session
Latest news on the barbecue party- it has been cancelled as some of the team members are unable to make it this Friday evening. Another date is currently being arranged.

Pickup with the Freakshow

Not too bad a turnout on Saturday as familiar faces joined the fun on the field with their frisbees. By ten in the morning, the bunch of us were already doing throws, hucking drills and games. The weather was good, the fields were pretty empty except for the presence of the Freakshow who were doing their usual practices as well. Soon enough, we were invited to join the Freakshow for a pickup.

We played well but soon realised that even when we put in our best, the Freakshow were merely at "recreational" mode. And then it dawned upon us how wide the gap was even though our players chalked on scores, good defences and powerful steals. First team to six points and the game was over.

The Freakshow were extremely hospitable and friendly though some of the players cheekily grumbled about how we cheered for PULA at the finals at the Singapore Opens 06. Most of them were shocked that we under performed during the Opens despite the high ratings for our team and agreed that we have more to offer. Smiles and handshakes all round, and the day ends with a good bout of food and drinks.

DId I mention that the Freakshow said that our jerseys and the logo kick ass?
